Around Singapore

Well its been a long time since I visited Singapore, I cant remember exactly when it was but I think 2017 when I was lucky enough to visit the Marina Bay Sands with my parents, aunty and uncle. This time I tried to get around to some places in the city I hadn’t seen before.

Joo Chiat Road is in the east of Singapore, and it a picturesque street with lots of traditional style buildings preserved and painted in lots of different colours. A nice area to walk in the day, see the buildings, and stop for an iced coffee when it gets abit hot.

This time of year construction was ongoing, building the grand stands ready for the Formula 1, which has been a huge success in Singapore. Most of the time however, the pit straight is accessible to walk or cycle up and down and see the pit buildings.

As Singapore National Day was coming up soon, there was a practise of the fireworks display and light show in the Marina Bay area, which we watched from the Esplanade.

I visited the Gardens by the Bay of an evening time, to see the daily light and sound show, this was a good display of the lights on the articifical trees all dancing to the current theme of disco music. The theme and style of show changes every month.

Finally when flying out of Singapore, I went the airport pretty early to give me time to visit the Jewel, located at Singapore airport, its an area to shop and dine and relax before heading over to the other terminals. The indoor waterfall really is very impressive, and great to take in from all different levels and indoor gardens surrounding it. I will do another post soon to highlight all the great food I had in Singapore too!
