Well I though this deserved its own write up, due to some of the great food I had when I was in Singapore for a few days. Starting first with this plate of roasted meats at a hawker centre, roasted pork, char sui, and roasted duck, and I think it was around $10 (singapore dollars).

I met a friend and our aim was to get around quite a few different stalls in the hawker centres to try some of the ‘best’ budget food in Singapore.

We used the Michelin guide to help us find some recomended places, including this Satay stall. Good satay with tasty peanut sauce as you would expect.

Next we tried some Popiah, a spring roll like dish and kueh pie tie are the smaller crispy bites on the left:

The next day we continued our tour, with some fantastic extra crispy parathas, accompanied with some curry sauce. A simple dish but these are some of the best parathas I have ever eaten.

Then we moved on to a more local but very busy hawker centre for lunch, having more roast meats and amazing tasting char sui from this counter:

This really is just a very short summary of some bits of the food in Singapore, it would be so easy to spend many many weeks working your way around the endless amount of different foods and dishes to try. I do recomend the Michelin app for some guidance on the rated cheap eats these days in Singapore its a good place to start.
