It was nearly Dia de los Muertos in Mexico, and I went to Guadalajara for a few days.
Guadalajara is one of the larger cities in Mexico. As it grew it merged with the towns Zapopane and also Tlaquepaque. Talquepaque is a pleasant traditional town, nice for walking around and where this photo was taken with more decorations for Dia de los Muertos.
The best views I found at the edge of the city, not far from the centre maybe 25 minutes drive. There is a park and once you have walked through it you find yourself looking out over these valleys.
A little up the road from the previous photo, is the Barranca de Huentitan area, where you can hike and again get incredible views.
Less than an hours drive from Guadalajara is Lake Chapala, and the small towns of Chapala and Ajijic.
Here next to the lake I watched these guys perform a traditional dance, as they slowly spin around the pole. As the rope unwinds they reach lower to the ground. It certainly must take some skill, and was very impressive to watch.
