Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia

Well heading down the east coast of Malaysia a few hours from Kota Bharu, the next state is Terangganum, with the city being Kuala Terangganu.

I was staying close to the waterfront, near Jalan Kampung Cina, which is the Chinatown area of the city, with lots of colour old shop fronts like this.

The Terangganu State Museum was particularly impressive, for both the large traditional buildings it is housed in, but also the range of traditional homes preserved in the grounds of the museum to walk around and see.

This other local home, which is well preserved and on display as a small museum was on the way to the state museum, it was the home of local businessman Haji Su.

I enjoyed some good curry laksa street side on the main chinatown street.

It was good to see Terangganu, which is not high up on the list of tourist destinations for Malaysia. I am glad I made the time to stop and see this side of Malaysia for a couple of days.
