Well I had planned a trip on the trains from Italy to Switzerland with my parents. We flew out to Milan, taking the train out of the city up to Lake Como. Our first stop was a small village on the lake called Varenna.

This turned out to be a beautiful village, with a good walk above the village taking the views in.

The sun was out makin the lake and village very picturesque. Varenna is one of the ferry stops on the lake, so from here you can tour all around Lake Como. One day we took the ferry over to Bellagio, though the sun was not out like in these photos.

Ofcourse we had time to enjoy some good italian coffee and pastries.

The small coastal path linked the the sections of the village. It was a good start to our trip with a pleasant and quiet apartment rental right in the village.
