I took my first sleeper train of the trip overnight from Stuttgart, across Austria, in to Slovenia. It was a fairly comfy sleeper and I got some rest arriving in Bled the next morning. The weather will still pretty cold as I arrived, but here is the view across Lake Bled.

There was quite abit of rain the next couple days whilst I was at Lake Bled. So my time was spent enjoying a few restaurants/pubs and the local food. I enjoyed the smoked sausages here served with mashed potato and mustard.

This mixed grill I had one afternoon was a great feed whilst I avoided the rain, in a nice warm and friendly pub.

The local dessert in Bled is a cream cake or kremšnita, which I had to try. It was invented at a local hoetel that overlooks the lake, where you can still enjoy it today.

Ljubljana is the capital city of Slovenia, not a large city so it was very walkable. I got good views from a cafe at the top of an apartment block, looking back toward the castle.

The weather was still pretty cool for April as I took in the architecture around the city and walked up to the castle.
