On the way to USA I had quick couple of days stopover in Iceland. Enough time for abit of sightseeing around the capital city Reykjavik.

It was already getting cold so I stayed indoors one day taking in the museums and galleries downtown and stopping for great fish and chips near the harbour.

The Church was lit up at night giving some good shots.

I took the bus out to the outdoor cultural museum, showing local houses and what life used to be like in Iceland. Then also went to a local swimming baths for a swim and relax in the hot pools and sauna. The blue lagoon is very famous, but for the much more economical and cheap option, Reykjavik has very good municipal swimming pools with hot tubs and saunas.

Just a brief stop here in Iceland, next time with some more time on my hands I would do some further trips around the island to see some of the waterfalls and active geology here. Overall, Reykjavik is a pleasant city to base yourself when visiting Iceland.
