I flew over to Barcelona to visit a friend for the week, who lives in Lleida. First meeting in Barcelona we had a day sightseeing here, taking in the market and the city beach.

We headed to another section of the coast the following down, south of Tarragona, near a village called L’Ampolla. Here there is a good coastal path that passes many small beaches, so we did a walk for a couple hours, and had nice lunch on the cliffs above a beach.

After getting back to Lleida and my friends, we headed north to the Pyrenees, to the village of Benasque. This is a small tourist village for skiing and. hiking, with many holiday apartments, where we stayed and did plenty more walking.

We hiked all the way along the valley which sits next to the border with France, taking a good picnic with us for our lunch.

We were rewarded with great weather and views of the meadows and mountain streams and waterfalls. It was a good week with good weather and plenty of walking.
