Seoul, South Korea

Well what did I do the rest of time in Seoul? There is plenty to see and do, with numerous different areas or neighbourhoods to explore.

I was staying in the Insadong area, with this street busy in the evening times with bbq and beer places.

Jogyesa Temple was nicely lit up in the evening, also near the Insadong area.

I walked through the local market at Gwangjayang, to see the local food and snacks on sale.

Bukchon Hanok village, to the north of where I was staying at Insadong, is a more local neighbourhood. With lots of small lanes and houses with their traditional stylized rooftops. This also gives some good views back to the rest of the city as it is a slightly hilly area of the city.

The Changdeokgung palace and temple complex is also near to the Bukchon Hanok area and was particularly impressive, despite the slightly rainy day.

To the west slightly is the area of Hongdae, a university area so busy and popular with students and young people in the city. Hongdae street is a wide street with lots of shops and restaraunts.

There was a lot to see around Seoul, I think I did not manage to see everything and could quite easily return for some more days and exploring across the city.
