Angkor Wat Temples, Cambodia

My last stop in Cambodia after Battambang was to stay in Siem Reap. This was to visit the famous Angkor Wat temple complex.

I took the temples in on a basic day tour costing $13. This tour included a tour guide and transport for the day on an aircon bus. The cost of the Angkor Wat ticket for all of the temples is nowadays $37 for 1 day or $62 for 3 days.

The tour took us around these 5 temples including a leisurely stop for lunch after the first couple. They were in order: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Keo, Ta Prohm and finally Pre Rup temple for sunset.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day seeing some incredible history. However it can get very hot and tiring walking around under the sun in the temples. It is one of the must visit places in Cambodia. There are many options for visiting, not just a day tour like I took. You can hire your own tuk tuk and make your own tour, or even cycle around all the temples.
