Philadelphia, USA

I took an Amtrak train south from New York not far to Philadelphia. My main reason for visiting was the Rocky movies & their connection with the city. However, there is a lot of USA history here too with Independence National Historic Square, home to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.

Elfreth’s Alley is said to be one of the oldest streets in USA, so I took a wander here to see the old houses. Some date back to 1703.

Philadelphia is famous for the cheesesteak sandwich with the Reading Terminal Market, a great place to try these amongst many, many other foods.

This next building in my photos is the Masonic Temple of Philadelphia. It serves as the headquarters of the grand lodge of Pennsylvania.

And finally, the main reason I visited was to see the Rocky statue and retrace some of the steps from the movies.
