Chiang Rai return, Thailand

Well it was a very long time ago I visited Chiang Rai, around 2008 on my first trip to Thailand, I remember going to see the now more famous abstract white temple, and it raining alot. Returning in dry season this time meant much better conditions for seing the city and surrounding countryside.

So I spent a few days touring around, one day on bicycle, and another day on a scooter to get out abit further from the city.

Back in the city I took in a few of the temples and night markets.

The weekend night market was huge, and had a great selection of all the classic Thai street food dishes and lots of barbeque meats.

It seemed to go on as far as the eye could see! I spent just about £5 and tried a good few different things for that price.

This quite night time shot of the temple was just near my guesthouse, I had a quite and very reasonable priced local guesthouse right in the city. Overall a nice few days having a look around Chiang Rai, much less busy than Chiang Mai, where my trip continued to next.
