My time in Mexico came to an end in Mexico City, but I had time for a day trip out to Teotihuacan.
Teotihuacan was an ancient town that was abandoned around 1500 years ago. It is famous for its two large pyramids, the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. I arrived pretty early so it was quiet when I took this photo of the Pyramid of the Sun. This is the larger of the two pyramids.
At the end of the road, stand the Pyramid of the Moon, slightly smaller, but in a prominent position.
Here I am, with the pyramid of the Sun in the background.
Back in Mexico City, it was a national holiday for Independence Day. So I got to watch the Independence Day Parade.
This was a great show with lots of different groups and floats going past as well as many nice horses.
