Berlin, Germany

After Paris I took the train to Berlin, via a couple of nights in Cologne. This was a nice city itself with the centre piece being the large cathedral. Once in Berlin I saw most of the popular sights, starting off with downtown here with the TV tower in the background.

My friend took me to the German Parliament, the ‘Reichstag’, where we took the audio tour. Learnt alot about the extensive renovations that took place in the 1990s, when the modern dome was added.

In the centre of Berlin, I particularly enjoyed trying the ‘original’ currywurst sausage stand of Curry 61.

I took in the remains of the Berlin Wall, now covered in many famous murals and paintings along the sections of wall that still stand.

A short trip outside the city is Teufelsberg. This is a man made hill which had a US listening station installation on the top of the hill during the cold war. Nowadays what is left of the listening station has been taken over by artists and graffiti, to make a cool place to explore with views back to Berlin.
