I had missed visiting Galle last time I was in Sri Lanka; as due to the start of the covid pandemic, my time in the country got cut short. So this time Galle was a priority to visit whilst back in Sri Lanka.

I stayed in the Fort area, this is popular with tourists, as lots of guesthouses and restaurants are around the area. It is a relaxing place to walk around the fort walls, with this young group playing a game of cricket.

I tried another version of the most popular Sri Lanka meal of rice and curry. This one had great chicken curry, coconut sambol, mango curry, alongside a couple of vegetable dishes. It ate fantastically and was one of the best meals I had this time.

Some more shots here of the quiet back lanes around Galle Fort.

It would be easy to stay several days here walking the walls around the Fort and trying the nice cafes and restaurants.

Here is a view up on the Fort itself, in the other direction to this is Galle cricket club, but no matches were on this time whilst I was there.
